PowerPoint on iPad? SlideShark Now Available Via Tech Data
iPads are everywhere, and business users often prefer to just take their iPads on the road and leave their PCs back at the office, whether they are traveling locally or to a conference. But one of the drawbacks has been the lack of a native PowerPoint client for iOS, and various companies have implemented workarounds to help, from cloud-based virtual desktops to iOS clients that deliver a version of Microsoft Power Point to iPad. BrainShark has done the a combination of both, offering a cloud-based file sharing system together with an iOS app. And this week the company announced SlideShark Team Edition is now available to partners through a partnership with distributor Tech Data Corp. (TECD).
BrainShark says that its SlideShark solution enables PowerPoint documents to render correctly without mangling fonts, graphics, animations, hyperlinks or videos.
“With more than 30 million PowerPoints created every single day, and with the iPad tested or deployed by 94 percent of the Fortune 500, it’s critical that businesses be able to use these technologies together,” said Bob Bristol, vice president of channel sales at Brainshark, in a prepared statement. “We’re pleased to partner with a world-class distributor like Tech Data to make the app’s benefits available to businesses on an even wider scale.”
Solution providers can access SlideShark Team Edition through Tech Data’s Solutions Store, powered by the Tech Data StreamOne engine, the companies said.
In addition to letting iOS users show PowerPoints, SlideShark Team Edition enables organizations distribute, track and manage content securely in the cloud. Advanced analytics help organizations see how presentations used in the field. SlideShark Team Edition also lets presenters broadcast their slides live over the Web.
