Palm Pre Cousin, Palm Pixi, Ready for Debut
Tired of your passé Palm Pre after just a few months? Well, you’re in luck. Palm has announced a number of details about the Pre’s successor, the Palm Pixi, including its release date.
The Pixi is a little less bulky than the Pre – even less so than some of its competitors like the new iPhone and the BlackBerry Bold2. You’ll find a QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen. Despite the fact it’s generally not considered to be on the same level as the Pre, the Pixi can still handle mobile e-mail, Web browsing and multitasking.
What won’t you find on the Pixi? Wi-Fi. But it does have Bluetooth capability, a 2-megapixel camera and GPS. It has 8GB of memory.
Maybe you can call it a poor man’s Pre. It’ll set you back just $100 after rebates, as long as you sign up for a new two-year services deal with Sprint. But probably the most exciting news for Palm fans is that the Pixi will go on sale Nov. 15.
