Nokia Networks Releases AirFrame Data Center Solution
Nokia Networks (NOK) has extended the reach of its telecommunications cloud portfolio with its new release. The Finnish broadband infrastructure software and services provider this week launched the AirFrame Data Center Solution, a 5G-ready data center offering that blends IT and telco cloud technologies.
Nokia Networks’ AirFrame Data Center Solution “combines the benefits of cloud computing technologies with the stringent requirements of the core and radio in the telco world,” according to the company. This offering supports Nokia Networks’ vision of a more flexible and distributed cloud architecture, the company said, and provides businesses with the foundation to deliver the latency and data processing requirements of the future.
The AirFrame Data Center Solution’s features include:
- Pre-integrated racks with ultra-dense servers.
- Software-defined storage.
- A suite of professional services provided by Nokia Networks services experts and geared to implement, monitor and operate telco cloud data centers.
In addition, Nokia Networks pointed out that the AirFrame Data Center Solution allows businesses to:
- Deliver telco applications that demand low latency and high throughput.
- Deploy data center components that support open and interoperable cloud solutions.
- Optimize telco virtual network functions.
“We are taking on the IT-telco convergence with a new solution to challenge the traditional IT approach of the data center,” Marc Rouanne, Nokia Networks’ executive vice president of mobile broadband, said in a prepared statement. “This newest solution brings telcos carrier-grade high availability, security-focused reliability as well as low latency, while leveraging the company’s deep networks expertise and strong business with operators to address an increasingly cloud-focused market.”
The AirFrame Data Center Solution is now available.
