New AT&T Foundry Dedicated to Digital Life, Mobility

AT&T has opened its new Foundry in Atlanta.

The communications giant expects the office to be a launching pad for new ideas and new companies that are capable of quickly going to market and addressing needs in a number of areas. The new Foundry innovation center will be focused on Digital Life, AT&T’s home security and automation services, as well as mobility services, the “connected car,” emerging devices and AT&T U-verse.

At the AT&T Foundry, we move quickly, so we need to be located in cities and regions with deep technical expertise and a strong entrepreneurial spirit,” said John Donovan, senior executive vice president of AT&T technology and network operations. Atlanta fits that description perfectly, and we cant wait to see the groundbreaking infrastructure that will come out of this facility.”

AT&T has teamed with host sponsor Cisco, which will not only bring its technical and innovation capabilities to the partnership, but will also help scout out the best third-party developers, investors, startups and entrepreneurs around the world when outside expertise is needed to get a project across the finish line.

The AT&T Foundry is known for its open floor plans and workspaces that encourage collaboration and brainstorming. A similar facility in Plano, Texas, is home to the AT&T Partner Exchange, where the carrier works with solution-provider partners to develop innovative solutions for business customers.
