Lumia 625, 1020, Possible 6-Inch ‘Phablet’ Lead Nokia’s Next-Gen Device Charge

Small businesses that want to buy large-screen smartphones for their businesses, but can’t afford Samsung Galaxy devices or other pricey phones, will soon have another option.
Nokia this week introduced the Lumia 625, which sports a 4.7-inch screen, the largest on a Nokia to date. The Finland-based manufacturer has priced the midrange smartphone at $290 without a subsidy about half the price of most new devices of that size.
Other specs include 8GB of internal storage, expandable to 64GB; 512MB of RAM; and a 1.2GHz, dual-core processor. Like other Lumias, it runs on Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system. You can get it in a variety of colors. The 625 will make its debut in much of the world sometime before the third quarter is over; no word yet on a U.S. debut, but when it does make it to the States, we assume it will be available at AT&T and T-Mobile, carriers that have offered the majority of Lumias up to this point.
Those in the U.S. who don’t want to wait can pick up a Nokia Lumia 1020 today. It’s making its debut with AT&T. This device is the priciest Lumia $300 on contract but it comes with a 41MP camera that many consider to be the best in the industry.
Also being discussed, but not confirmed, is a so-called “phablet” a smartphone/tablet hybrid from Nokia that features a six-inch display. Chinese website weibo.com just published what it says are leaked images of such a device. A screen that big would be larger than what Samsung features on its Note line of phablets, arguably the most successful in this category so far.
