iboss Releases Advanced MDM Solution Software

iboss Network Security has released MobileEther, a new mobile device management (MDM) solution designed to provide organizations with advanced security and compliance capabilities that extend beyond traditional mobile management, according to the company.

MobileEther combines traditional MDM features such as data loss prevention with advanced Web and mobile malware protection, detailed reporting and directory-based user authentication, according to the press release. The result is a robust solution heavy in features to keep data secure and in compliance.

"Smartphones and tablets are considered essential across almost every workforce. However, the need for these devices to meet regulatory compliance is eroding the effectiveness of traditional mobile device management solutions," said Paul Martini, CEO, iboss in a prepared statement. "Many organizations resort to deploying two solutions to meet security and compliance needs. MobileEther solves this challenge by providing a unified approach to managing and securing mobile devices in the enterprise."

MobileEther offers unified reporting, which the company said can help improve employee productivity and shorten remediation response time—both of which will help drive down enterprise expenses. MobileEther also ensures all mobile devices comply with CIPA, HIPAA, PCI and FISMA regulations.

Other benefits, according to the company, include:

  • HTTP/S web filtering with flexible user access and directory integration;

  • Traffic scanning and identification of embedded threats;

  • Identification and securing of unencrypted, sensitive data transmissions;

  • Sophisticated signature and heuristic-based intrusion prevention and detection; and

  • Cloud based email security scans to detect viruses, malware, data loss, and protect against DoS attacks .
