Flexiant Launches Apps Management Platform for Public, Private Clouds
Flexiant this week announced Flexiant Concerto, a new hosted platform that enables multi-cloud application lifecycle management (ALM) for telcos.
The London-based cloud orchestration software solutions company’s executives believe that services based on its solution can generate new revenue opportunities for telcos by allowing developers to build applications across multiple platforms.
Flexiant Concerto features include multi-cloud application blueprints, application aware auto scaling, integrated services, white-labelled services and other addition features.
“Flexiant Concerto makes life easier for devops by removing the complexity of understanding all the various and different cloud infrastructure components,” said George Knox, CEO of Flexiant, in an interview with Talkin’ Cloud. “It allows devops to build applications quicker by consistently supporting and simplifying the app management lifecycle across both their own cloud and other public clouds.”
Flexiant Concerto automates the processes involved in managing multiple clouds, either in a service provider’s own infrastructure or in a cloud services provider (CSP)’s infrastructure. The solution supports the following CSPs: Amazon Web Services, Cloudstack, Digital Ocean, IBM, Joyent, OpenStack, Rackspace (RAX) and VMware (VMW). Flexiant will begin supporting Microsoft Azure and Google (GOOG) on November 1.
“Flexiant Concerto gives next generation app developers the ability to deploy on any cloud with guaranteed consistency,” he said. “With Flexiant Concerto, service providers can offer their customers the ability to avoid cloud provider lock-in, and ultimately to select the best cloud for a given use case, whether based on price, geography, performance, or to bridge the gap between public and private clouds, taking away the inconvenience of dealing with app portability.”
Flexiant Concerto’s launch follows the company’s acquisition of the Tapp multi-cloud management technology and business from Besol Sl in May 2014.
“Over the next few months, Flexiant Concerto will support further public clouds and go deeper into meeting the requirements of devops to make them more efficient and in turn provide solutions for service providers to win new business,” he said. “New product developments will also be announced for Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator.”
He added: “Flexiant aims to serve managed service providers as they compete on the cloud battleground. Our focus is in arming them with the tools they need to win.”
