Citrix Hires Former Symantec Exec to Lead Mobile Platforms Group

Citrix this week announced the appointment of a former Symantec executive as the vice president and general manager of its Mobile Platforms group.

Citrix (CTXS) has hired a former Symantec (SYMC) executive to lead its Mobile Platforms group, which oversees  mobility products such as XenMobile.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider this week announced the appointment of Brian Dye as the vice president and general manager of its Mobile Platforms group. In his new role, Dye will be responsible for Citrix’s EMM and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.

Before joining Citrix, Dye spent more than a decade at Symantec, holding several executive positions in product management, engineering, support and operations. He most recently served as Symantec’s senior vice president for its Information Security Group.

Prior to Symantec, he held various roles in engineering, program management, and business development at Procter and Gamble, E Ink, and Xerox PARC.

“As organizations mobilize their business, security and control are top of mind, and IT is increasingly turning to MDM or EMM solutions,” Dye said in a prepared statement.

Responding to partner feedback, Citrix has made plans to market more in airports, grow its presence in leading newspapers and market its image in other ways.
