BroadSoft has acquired mPortal, a McLean, Virginia-based customer experience product provider.

BroadSoft (BSFT) has added a customer experience product provider to its portfolio. The unified communications and collaboration (UCC) services company has acquired mPortal, a McLean, Virginia-based customer experience product provider.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but BroadSoft said the mPortal acquisition is expected to contribute approximately $4 million in incremental revenue for the remainder of this year.

So what does the acquisition mean for BroadSoft? mPortal will provide the foundation for BroadSoft Design, BroadSoft said, which enables UC service providers to deliver highly customizable customer experiences.

“MPortal’s custom design and development capabilities, and focus on delivering mobile-centric user experiences, significantly enhances BroadSoft’s ability to enable its global telecommunications service provider customers to deliver customizable UC experiences to a wide range of business end users across different market segments,” a BroadSoft spokesperson told Talkin’ Cloud.

In addition, BroadSoft Chief Technology Officer Scott Hoffpauir pointed out that the mPortal acquisition and launch of BroadSoft Design reaffirms his company’s commitment to “simplifying how [its] customers sell, deliver and support UC services, innovating to give service providers a competitive market advantage and accelerating market adoption of unified communications through a superior end user experience.”

BroadSoft Design is available to service providers delivering UC services with BroadSoft’s BroadWorks platform or via BroadCloud.

BroadSoft’s total revenue reached $55.7 million in the first quarter of 2015, which represented a 27 percent year-over-year increase, and the company continues to explore growth opportunities.

A BroadSoft spokesperson said the company expects to grow both organically and through acquisitions and “remains focused on areas where BroadSoft can make its service provider customers more competitive and enhance their ability to differentiate their offerings in the market.”
