Unified communications (UC) and contact center solutions company 8×8 (EGHT) has announced plans to add a UK-based outbound and blended contact center solutions provider to its portfolio.

8×8 yesterday said it will acquire DXI for $25.3 million to increase its European footprint and expand its cloud contact center portfolio. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the month, 8×8 noted, and the company intends to bring DXI services and solutions to the U.S. market by the end of the year.

“With DXI’s strong UK contact center market presence and outstanding technical team, 8×8 can broaden its European footprint, offer a frictionless, online sales approach for agile contact centers and line-of-business buyers and add a stellar team passionate about bringing next-generation contact center innovations to market,” 8×8 CEO Vik Verma said in a prepared statement.

Verma also pointed out that DXI’s offerings complement 8×8’s Virtual Contact Center (VCC) solutions, and the DXI acquisition could help his company “further position [itself] as a leader in cloud contact center solutions.”

8×8 recorded $162.4 million in fiscal 2015 revenue, which represented a 26 percent year-over-year increase, and the company continues to take steps to expand globally.

For example, 8×8 earlier this month launched a cloud-based contact center solution that enables organizations to manage their global call centers through a single platform.

The company said this release, 8×8 VCC Global, connects an organization’s international agents “over a single platform with integrated presence, multilingual chat with automatic translation, call routing, reporting and management.”
