Mocana Gets $25M to for Mobile and Device Security Platform

San Francisco-based mobile security technology provider Mocana has announced that it has secured $25 million of Series D funding. The company said the new funding will go towards scaling its Mobile and Device Security Platform, which is a software and network services solution designed to secure connected devices and the information, applications and services that run on them.

Trident Capital, a venture capital and venture growth firm, led the new round. Trident Capital made the investment based on Mocana's roster of premier clients, experienced team and deep intellectual property. Trident Capital joins existing Mocana investors Intel Capital, Shasta, Southern Cross and Symantec. Trident Capital Managing Director J. Alberto Yépez will join Mocana's board of directors.

Back in April, MSPmentor reported Mocana's updates to its Mobile App Protection (MAP) software -- a solution that provides cross-platform security management control over mobile apps. MAP secures apps deployed to devices that the enterprise doesn't directly control, while working on apps deployed inside the enterprise.

More information about Mocana's program is available on the company's website.
