The integration is expected to help AirWatch customers to quickly push new security solutions to end-users without having to physically install additional software, according to the announcement.
This, in turn will also reduce administrative overhead while simultaneously increasing visibility over mobile device fleets, said Stijn Paumen, vice president of Business Development at Wandera.
"We've worked closely with Wandera, as a part of the AirWatch Mobile Security Alliance, to give our mutual customers a simpler way to deliver threat prevention services," said Erik Frieberg, vice president, Marketing, End-User Computing, VMware, in a statement. "This additional integration builds upon an already strong partnership with Wandera and delivers on our goal to simplify the mobile security lifecycle for our mutual customers."
All new VMware AirWatch customers will also have access to a special mobile security promotion via Wandera, which includes a 30-day free mobile security audit for up to 500 devices, as well as three months of free Wandera service if the customer chooses a standard Wandera order following the audit, according to the announcement. The company is also offering a one-day free trial of Wandera Professional services for customers with over 1,000 devices. The promotion is valid until September 30, 2016.
