Pertino Extends Secure Cloud Networking to iOS Devices

Pertino's new iOSConnect app adds iOS device support on the VPN client to the Pertino cloud network via a secure cloud gateway.

Mobile networking solutions provider Pertino has announced native iOS support for its Cloud Engine Platform with iOSConnect, which will allow iOS users to securely access firewall-protected and cloud-based files with their Apple (APPL) devices.

iOSConnect is an AppScape network app that allows admins to add iOS devices on the VPN client to the Pertino cloud network via a secure cloud gateway, according to the announcement. iOSConnect is expected to help IT organizations increase their productivity and eliminate potential data breaches from mobile devices.

With the release of iOSConnect, Pertino said its cloud networking service now supports all modern operating systems across mobile, desktop and service devices, including Android, Windows 8 for phone and tablet and Linux.

“Securely connecting public cloud workloads and mobile workforces represent a significant challenge for IT organizations because of the cost and complexity of extending traditional WAN technologies to these modern environments,” said Todd Krautkremer, Pertino CMO, in a statement. “With the addition of iOSConnect, our Cloud Network Engine now gives IT organizations one platform to connect all of their mobile workers anywhere—on any device—and all of their instances and containers across any public cloud, without upfront costs or hardware, and with complete visibility, security and control.”

Pertino launched its BlueSky Partner Program in September, which is aimed at helping cloud-centric resellers, distributors, and service providers offer a disruptive model for networking.

iOSConnect is currently available in public beta for Pertino’s Business plan customers. The company is also offering several promotions for customers who purchase the Pertino Business plan before the end of the year.
