Vonage has acquired Jumper.ai, a Singapore-based provider of omnichannel conversational commerce solutions. It supports high-profile brands like Disney, Ben & Jerry’s and Burger King.

Jumper.ai‘s team will join Vonage’s product and engineering group. Vonage gains significant technology and developer-focused talent, as well as expertise in conversational commerce. This complements the capabilities of the Vonage Communications Platform and portfolio of APIs.

Vonage didn’t say how much it’s paying for Juniper.ai.

More Choices for Partners, Customers

“Vonage has acquired Jumper.ai’s technical team and intellectual property, which includes its end-to-end conversational commerce and shopper engagement platform,” he said. “This platform creates omnichannel, messaging-first customer engagement and shopping journeys across social, messaging and web. This acquisition provides our partners with even more choices for their customers.”

Jumper.ai’s technology will provide new and existing customers with packaged and embedded commerce capabilities, Berry said. These capabilities will simplify the way they serve, connect with and sell to their own customers.

Conversational commerce is an in-demand retail trend that capitalizes on the growing convergence of shopping and conversations on platforms like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram. According to Juniper Research, the total addressable market in conversational commerce will be worth $27 billion by 2025.

“Partners can now get access to selling this conversational commerce platform to their customers, which is especially meaningful for the SMB and midmarket customers,” Berry said. “It enables them to grow their reach with their end users. The way many consumers engage with brands is fast becoming identical to how they talk to their friends, through messaging apps and social media. Being able to provide a means for consumers to better interact with the brands they do business with, on top of the existing API and contact center solutions that Vonage provides, will provide end-to-end customer engagement solutions powered by our pre-built applications as well as our customizable API. This breadth of offerings is not found in competitive solutions today.”

New Opportunities for Jumper.ai’s Partners, Developers

Vonage plans to incorporate Jumper.ai’s existing developers and partners in its global partner ecosystem, Berry said. They’ll get access to the Vonage Communications Platform, and the product API and artificial intelligence (AI) suite of solutions.

Yash Kotak is Jumper.ai‘s CEO and co-founder.

“Combining our market-leading technologies presents an opportunity to create new, amazing customer experiences, leveraging Jumper.ai technology and the global reach of Vonage,” he said.
