Saalex Information Technology, a California-based MSSP, has acquired Oregon-based Arctic MSP. It’s the company’s second acquisition in two months.

Buying Arctic MSP allows Saalex Information Technology (SaalexIT) to continue expanding in the West. This acquisition follows SaalexIT’s purchase of Valeo Networks.

Michael Flavin is SaalexIT’s director of technology sales. He said Saalex has a vision to be a national MSP/MSSP that provides the same cybersecurity, cloud and compliance services across the board in any market.

“This acquisition gives us that presence in the Northwest (Oregon, Washington),” he said.

Competitive Advantage

Arctic MSP gives SaalexIT a competitive advantage, Flavin said. Arctic MSP’s IT services include managed security, managed services, network administration, IT consulting and website design.

“We have technology tools and infrastructure that enable us to do 98% of our work remotely,” Flavin said. “But we’ll also have a local, friendly and knowledgeable IT team in each market for onsite and other strategic discussions.”

SaalexIT and Arctic MSP weren’t competitive rivals, Flavin said.

The Arctic MSP brand will continue to operate, doing business as a SaalexIT company, keeping its Eugene, Oregon, headquarters.

“Arctic has great cyber and cloud engineers that can complement our national service desk and engineering operations,” Flavin said. “They are also an extension of the automation tools [we got] via the Valeo acquisition.”

“One of the things I am looking forward to with [the acquisition] is the ability to expand regionally beyond where we are now,” said Dan Herman, Arctic MSP’s CEO. “With Saalex’s financial and technical backing, Arctic will become an even stronger IT service provider, and be better able to provide top quality IT services and security for our clients.”

SaalexIT’s acquisition of Valeo Networks combined the two MSPs in SaalexIT’s Southwest region, which includes California, Arizona, New Mexico and other states.

“We continue to execute on our national strategy and working with great companies like Arctic MSP will help us achieve that goal,” said Travis Mack, Saalex’s president and CEO. “This acquisition grows and further enhances our capabilities in the areas of cybersecurity, cloud, network security and compliance service offerings. With the acquisition of Arctic MSP, SaalexIT will be firmly rooted in the top 10% of MSSPs nationwide.”
