HelpSystems has acquired Digital Defense, a provider of vulnerability management and threat assessment solutions, to beef up its cybersecurity portfolio.

Digital Defense provides a cloud-native vulnerability scanning engine. It gives organizations in health care, legal, financial services and other industries the ability to proactively detect infrastructure security gaps. They can then take steps to protect against internal and external cyber threats.

HelpSystems says Digital Defense joins its recent Core Security and Cobalt Strike acquisitions to establish a comprehensive security assessment toolkit.

Digital Defense’s Capabilities

The Digital Defense platforms provides penetration testing, employee training, cybersecurity defense, enterprise risk assessment and physical security testing.

The vulnerability scanning engine allows pen-testers to focus their efforts on identified issues rather than blindly testing the network. For companies that lack the internal bandwidth or expertise to carry this out, Digital Defense’s team of U.S.-based pen testers conduct the tests.

“The combination of Digital Defense, Core Security and Cobalt Strike gives us all a competitive advantage,” Bolseth said.

For Digital Defense partners, it’s business as usual, she said. A priority moving forward will be bringing the two companies and their partner programs together.
