Dell’s asset liquidation continued on Monday. Francisco Partners and TPG said they are acquiring Boomi from Dell for $4 billion.

The deal poses various questions. Private equity firms always seek a return on investment. Perhaps they haven’t determined their plan. Maybe it will lead to an eventual IPO or sale to another company, or perhaps they will fund other acquisitions to grow the Boomi business.
