Cloud Computing Concepts (C3), the provider of technology and communications services to businesses, has acquired EtherneXt, a Florida-based provider of internet connectivity, colocation and managed services to customers throughout North America.

This transaction was completed on Nov. 2. C3 has retained EtherneXt CEO Bill Desjardins as a consultant to assist with a smooth transition.

Rick Mancinelli, C3’s founder and CEO, tells Channel Partners the acquisition extends his company’s network reach and adds cost-effective colocation services.

“It allows C3 partners to bundle cost-effective colocation services with other C3 services including cloud, managed services, telecom, security and regulatory compliance,” he said.

C3’s acquisition strategy is focused on extending its service portfolio, geographic reach and revenue base, Mancinelli said.

“The EtherneXt acquisition is significant in that it touches on each of these areas, thus further positioning C3 as a single-source partner of choice for the channel,” he said. “We will build upon the personalized service that EtherneXt has provided its clients for more than 15 years by providing access to a much broader product portfolio, a deeper engineering team, 24×7 bilingual help desk, and additional colocation options in New York, Cleveland, and Las Vegas.”

Last summer, C3 completed its acquisition of the South Florida Digital Alliance’s (SFDA) service-provider division. The for-profit service provider division has been providing connectivity, colocation and internet access throughout South Florida since 2009.
