Apollo Information Systems, a cybersecurity and network solutions provider, has acquired CyberDefenses, an MSSP based near Austin, Texas.

Combining both companies will expand service offerings and advanced expertise for clients’ organizations. They’ll protect business operations against threats such as ransomware, economic espionage and nation-state attacks.

CyberDefenses was founded over 20 years ago to provide cybersecurity services to the U.S. federal government. It has expanded its service offerings to state and local government, and enterprises. Its specialized services include election security, threat intelligence and incident response.

Apollo Information Systems serves federal, state and local government agencies, and global enterprise clients with a suite of cybersecurity and IT services and solutions.

Partners Gain Additional Marketplaces

Apollo’s partners will now have direct access to additional marketplaces,” he said. “In particular, CyberDefenses’ expertise in election security will enable Apollo to assess the needs of states and counties, and pinpoint solutions that they wouldn’t have access to or have awareness about before. When coupled with Apollo’s expertise, the right solution can be implemented to solve the right problems.”

Apollo Information Systems now has CISOs with extensive threat intelligence capabilities, MacBeth said. It also has a strong incident response practice, and secret and top secret clearance.

“This, when coupled with Apollo’s existing team of experienced CISOs, means Apollo houses a long roster of real-world expertise in enterprise, state/local and federal sectors that is difficult to find with competitors,” he said.

CyberDefense Partners Gain

CyberDefenses has many partners in the sectors it served, MacBeth said. And with this acquisition, those partners will now have access to a deeper bench of experts and services for their clients.

Brian Engle is CyberDefenses‘ COO.

“This is truly a union of two great companies that share a common vision and work ethic, joining together cybersecurity professionals who in many cases have known and worked with each other throughout their extensive careers,” he said.

The two companies will continue to provide “stellar” services, Engle said. Moreover, they’ll bring even more capabilities to the industry in attacking the “steady barrage of cybersecurity issues.”
