Ingram Micro is expanding its partner portfolio in the managed services software market. The distributor already offers Level Platforms and Nimsoft as line card items to MSPs. This morning, Ingram Micro North America confirmed a new managed services relationship with N-able Technologies, and there are clues that Ingram and Kaseya are discussing a new partnership. Here's the update.
At the Ingram Micro Cloud Summit in Phoenix, Ingram unveiled eight new cloud and managed services partners. N-able Technologies was on the list. Starting in Q3, Ingram will offer VARs and MSPs access to N-able's N-central 8.0 RMM platform, N-able’s Security Manager Endpoint and anti-spam solutions, as well as Audit Manager and Report Manager products, according to an Ingram and N-able spokeswoman. N-able President JP Jauvin and Ingram VP of Managed Services and Cloud Computing Renee Bergeron confirmed the relationship on stage at the summit.
Australia Import?Longer term, there are clues that Ingram Micro North America will also offer SaaS tools from Kaseya to VARs and MSPs. Already, Ingram and Kaseya have a SaaS relationship in Australia. The rumors about an Ingram-Kaseya North America relationship started back in May. I expected an official deal to potentially emerge here at the Ingram Micro Cloud Summit today. But it sounds like Ingram and Kaseya are still negotiating terms, though I think the North America relationship will eventually surface.
Ingram's growing portfolio of RMM partners is easily explained. Roughly two years ago, Ingram started to diversify is Seismic managed services strategy to include at least two software partners in each category. The typical VAR and MSP tries two to three different RMM tools, and in some cases runs multiple tools in tandem. To address that market reality, Ingram has continued to pursue additional RMM engagements.
