Tech Data (TECD) has announced the formation of the Mobility Solutions and Retail division, which will be led by newly minted Senior Vice President of Mobility Solutions and Retail Patrick Stokes.

The division, set to launch March 1, will utilize Tech Data’s Consumer Technology Sales team, which formerly was part of the distributor’s Integrated Supply Chain Solutions (ISCS) segment.

Shaun Sinden has been promoted to vice president and general manager, ISCS, Americas, tasked with focusing on expanding the company’s supply chain initiatives, according to the announcement. Sinden will be responsible for growing the distributor’s ISCS business in the Americas and developing the supply chain services portfolio.

Stokes joined Tech Data last year as vice president of the company’s Mobile Solutions division. Prior to his appointment, he served as president and CEO at Brightstar and has held senior executive roles at companies including Verizon (VZ) and Sprint (S), according to the press release.

Sinden served as vice president of Consumer Technology and Integrated Supply Chain Services before taking on his new role within the company. He also served as senior director of Key Global Accounts at Arvato Services prior to his appointment at Tech Data in 2010.

“Combining our mobile and retail businesses under dedicated leadership and placing a laser focus on our supply chain initiatives is a natural evolution that better aligns our resources with the market landscape,” said Joe Quaglia, president, the Americas at Tech Data, in a statement. “These organizational changes, designed to better serve our vendor partners, solution providers, and retail partners while accelerating our growth in these important segments, will provide a heightened focus on each market with a clearer alignment for our channel partners.”
