Scott Mallet, president of Network Technology Solutions, died of an apparent heart attack on Oct. 29. Mallet was only 36. HTG Peer Groups, of which Mallet was a member, confirmed the news in an email to MSPmentor this evening. The peer group organization, which includes dozens of VARs and MSPs, is planning to honor Mallet at next week’s HTG All organizational meeting in Orlando, Fla.

HTG Peer Groups Founder Arlin Sorensen will also honor Mallet in a Nov. 1 enewsletter to HTG’s membership. According to Sorensen, Mallet apparently suffered a massive heart attack after scuba diving this past weekend. Mallet is survived by is wife, Christy. The MSPmentor team extends our condolences to Mallet’s family, friends and business partners.

Mallet’s company, NTS, is based in Pompano Beach, Fla. Sorensen said NTS has a good leadership team in place, featuring GM Scott Spiewak and COO Manuel Palachuk.

HTG Peer Groups offers an emergency service, called Hands That Give, to member organizations that experience personal or corporate emergencies. Mallet was not a Hands That Give member, but Sorensen said HTG will extend emergency services to NTS to help the MSP cope with Mallet’s loss.

Meanwhile, the annual HTG All meeting is set for the week of Nov. 4 in Orlando. Hundreds of MSPs and VARs are set to attend before proceeding to the ConnectWise IT Nation conference later in the week. HTG is expected to honor Mallet at the event.
