With November winding down, you may have missed some of our coverage of the IT job market. If you skipped a week or two, don’t worry about it. (We’ll forgive you for now). Here’s a recap of what you may have missed. Superstorm Sandy left most of us at MSPmentor powerless. Even though our situations were not optimal we were better off than many, and we still pushed forward with our job board. During the week after the disaster, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that CIOs may be cautious of hiring in 2013, however, they continued to have a positive outlook on overall hiring.
The IT industry continued to expand, paving the way for new jobs. Just a week later, Gartner reported that spending on mobile devices in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) would reach $188 billion in 2016. By 2016, according to Gartner, two-thirds of the workforce will have a smartphone or tablet device.
Finally, last week, we expressed concern for your health. Unemployment status, multiple job losses, and short periods without work are all significant risk factors for acute cardiovascular events, according to a recent study, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
