Why buy one iPad when you can purchase two — or more? That’s the mindset for a growing number of iPad users. Just ask Blaine J. Raddon (pictured), VP of sales channels and general business at Juniper Networks. Here’s are the details.

At this week’s Ingram Micro VTN conference in Hollywood, Fla., Raddon is navigating the halls with his WiFi iPad.

At first glance, Raddon seems addicted to the WiFi-enabled iPad. And boy does he praise it. But in a few weeks, Raddon will hand the Apple device off to his wife. Why’s that? Because Raddon will be switching to a 3G-enabled iPad once Apple begins shipments of that device.

Raddon may not stop there… The VAR Guy hears there may be a third iPad in the extended Raddon family soon…

Twice the Fun?

Raddon isn’t alone. The VAR Guy has heard from quite a few sources, who say they purchased a WiFi iPad earlier this month but will leap to the 3G-WiFi iPad very soon.

In retrospect, Apple’s decision to stagger the two iPad releases (one with WiFi, the other with both WiFi and 3G) seems brilliant. The move is creating “more” demand for the device. Impulse buyers are opening their wallets now for WiFi-centric iPads, and may do so again for the WiFi-3G offering in a few weeks. Just ask Raddon.

And what about The VAR Guy? He’s addicted to Latte and blogging. But our resident blogger hasn’t fallen into an iPad addiction — at least not yet. The VAR Guy is waiting for his 3G iPad to arrive in a few days… or weeks… Only Apple knows the ship date for sure.
