Seven Managed Services Blogs MSPmentor Didn't Write: May 20

Loyal MSPmentor readers know the story: It's the end of the week. Time for the MSPmentor staff to unplug just a bit. But before we do here are seven managed services blog entries our team didn't have a chance to write for the week ending May 20, 2011.

7. Partnership Coming?: Is there something brewing between Autotask and Synnex, the big distributor?Last I heard, some Synnex channel partners were testing Autotask as part of a broader Synnex managed services initiative. Perhaps there will be more chatter at Autotask Community Live.

6. Partnerships Confirmed: At least two well-known RMM (remote monitoring and management) software providers will surface in Phoenix, Arizona, in early June. Anybody care to guess who they're going to see and why?

5. Back to School: The MSPAlliance has unveiled a Masters Class for cloud and managed services. The move comes as CompTIA unveils an MSP Partners TrustMark.

4. Raising His Visibility: Michael Cooch, the well-known managed services veteran who also co-founded Kutenda, seems to be raising his personal visibility again in the managed services market and the IT channel. Cooch was a bit quiet when he was busy integrating Everon Technology Services with Plumchoice. But I sense that hard work is now behind Cooch...

3. Top 250 MSP Experts: The fourth-annual MSPmentor 250 survey remains open. Complete the survey to nominate a managed services executive, entrepreneur, expert, marketing guru, technical genius, sales professional... you get the picture. One nomination per person is fine. No need to stuff the ballot box. Also, we've found a way to honor the usual suspects without having them dominate the list this year. Stay tuned. The survey closes in June; results coming in August.

2. Did You See That?: I've finally received multiple confirmations on the following: Several sources -- including me -- spotted a private equity executive hanging out near the lobby during the recent HTG Peer Group meeting in Dallas. Which of the attending MSPs are potentially up for sale or attracting investor interest? I have a few hunches...

1. Thank You: Sometimes I forget to say Thanks for reading MSPmentor and our sister sites -- The VAR Guy and Talkin' Cloud. Amy Katz and I are surrounded by a talented staff here at Nine Lives Media Inc. But we'd be really lonely without you reading our sites regularly. So thanks.

That's all for now. I need to unplug for just a bit...
