Cloud Sherpas, Agosto, CDW and others are Google’s Global Partners of the Year.

After a week-long celebration of all things partner-oriented at its Global Partner Summit, Google concluded its event by recognizing these and a handful of other organizations as best-in-class partners.

At the event, which attracted more than 700 partners to the San Francisco Bay Area, Cloud Sherpas was singled out as the Global Enterprise Overall Winner. The Atlanta-based global cloud advisory and technology services company has twice previously been honored as the “Google Enterprise Partner of the Year for Google Apps.”

SoftBank, meanwhile, was named the top Google Apps Partner of the Year, while Onix took home honors as the top Partner of the Year in the “Search” category. Thermopylae was named Partner of the Year in the category of “Maps for Business,” while Agosto was recognized as the top “Cloud Platform” Partner of the Year. In addition, CDW took home honors as the Partner of the Year in the “Chrome” category.

At the Google event, Amit Singh, president of Google Enterprise, and Sundar Pichai, senior vice president of Android, Chrome and Apps, shared their thoughts and insights on the state and future of business technology, and provided updates on Google’s Enterprise business.

Together, Singh and Pichai shared some milestones reached by the company. Among them:

  • Google now boasts more than 10,000 Google Apps Resellers.

  • The Google Apps Partner Program now has a technology track for ISVs that build complementary business apps and tools.

  • The Google Cloud Platform Partner Program, launched in July 2012, now has tiers including one for Premier-level partners.

There is a new Chrome partner program for resellers of Chrome OS management console, “as well as technology and content partners that develop business and education applications for the Chrome OS and browser,” according to the company.
