Friday's Last Word: Skytap CEO Thor Culverhouse — Who exactly is he?

Skytap CEO Thor Culverhouse has been responsible for overall company strategy and operational execution since July 2013. The Seattle-based cloud computing company provides testing and development environments for enterprises supporting both native VMware and AWS workloads.

Prior to Skytap, he was vice president of sales for Global Accounts, HP Software and Solutions at Hewlett-Packard, where he managed five go-to-market verticals and associated sales teams.  Culverhouse was CEO of Stratavia, a database and data center automation software company, before it was acquired by HP.

He has also held executive positions at IBM, Informix and Tektronix.

What are Culverhouse plans for Skytap?

"Skytap has experienced tremendous growth in demand for our solution over the past 12 months, and we are planning to release innovative new capabilities that will expand our addressable market," Culverhouse says. "To keep up with rising demand and expand our market reach, we will be aggressively expanding our partner ecosystem."
