Friday's Last Word: CloudLock CEO Gil Zimmermann — Who exactly is he?

CloudLock CEO Gil Zimmermann co-founded the Waltham, Massachusetts-based cloud security solutions company in 2011, with the goal of transforming cloud-centric security into a business enabler. The company now has more than five million users across 600 customers. These customers include Whirlpool, HBO, BBVA, Pandora, Financial Times, Dominion Enterprises, The Guardian and others.

Before founding CloudLock, Zimmermann was an entrepreneur-in-residence (EIR) at Cedar Fund, a venture capital firm based in Israel and Boston. He has held positions with Backweb, Sun Microsystems and EMC Corporation (EMC) over the years. He began his career in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), where he held several positions in the Military Intelligence Elite Computer Projects Unit.

What's are Zimmermann's plans for Clocklock?

"Our plans for the rest of the year is to continue the amazing growth we’ve accomplished this year and to build the launch platform for everything we have planned for next year," he says. "By the end of the year, we’ll have more than doubled our business in every parameter and have set ourselves up for another great year."

Who does Zimmermann challenge to sit in the hot seat?

Vance Loiselle, president and CEO of Sumo Logic, a Redwood City, California-based provider of cloud-centric log management and analytics services. The company was founded by Kumar Saurabh and Christian Beedgen in 2010.
