Symantec Partner Program: Committed to Success

By Symantec Guest Blog

As our new CEO, Mike Brown, recently announced, Symantec is going through an exciting transition in which we’re separating into two companies: one business focused on security and one business focused on information management. This separation will enable us to focus on the market opportunity, reduce some complexity and be easier to do business with.

I had the opportunity to talk about the transition with many of our partners at Symantec’s Partner Engage event Oct. 14-15 in Scottsdale, Ariz. The feedback I’ve received so far has been very positive. Partners expressed their excitement about working with separate security dedicated and information management dedicated companies. They’re looking forward to the clearer product and solution focus that each business will provide.

We’re dedicated to open and direct communication with our partners, and I plan on sharing more details on the transition as soon as we can. To ensure you’re receiving the latest information from Symantec, I recommend that you sign up for our monthly PartnerNews email via PartnerNet. (Click on your name in the top right hand corner, go to My Details, then check the box next to PartnerNews under “Communication Preferences” and click Save.)

It’s important to note that our partners won’t see any major changes to our Partner Program this fiscal year. We’re committed to the redesigned program and structure, and feel it’s the right path moving forward. We will continue rolling out the new benefits to the program in North America, including the Financial Benefits Portal in November. Our partners have invested in this program, and I appreciate their time and understanding in providing input. We will preserve and continue to reward their investment.

As we work to build two separate companies, this is also a big opportunity for growth. I hope that our partners are more excited than ever about investing with us and in continuing the program we designed. I invite our partners to invest and keep growing with us. Let’s build this future together.
