Seven Managed Services Blogs MSPmentor Didn't Write: May 27

The MSPmentor team is recharging a bit before heading off to multiple conferences over the next two weeks. Here’s a look at our next destinations. Plus, the seven managed services blogs we didn’t have time to write for the week ending May 27, 2011.

7. Cloud Move: CentraStage, which offers Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software in the cloud, continues to expand beyond Europe to support the U.S. market. Watch for the company to potentially launch some services in Amazon’s cloud this year.

6. Return to Growth: During Autotask Community Live, Level Platforms VP Dan Wensley said demand for Managed Workplace 2011 is driving rapid growth at the company. Meanwhile, the mood was equally upbeat over in the N-able Technologies booth. VP of Sales Mike Cullen was a familiar face at the conference. But it’s clear President and COO JP Jauvin also is raising his visibility at conferences.

5. In the Spotlight: Watch for the TalkinCloud 50 — tracking the top VARs and MSPs in cloud computing — to debut within days. Also, participate in the MSPmentor 250 — which tracks the top managed services experts, entrepreneurs and executives across sales, marketing, technology and more. Deadline for the MSPmentor 250 survey is June 24, 2011.

4. Hitting the Road: Our editorial staff will be blogging live from the following events over the next few days: Ingram Micro Cloud Summit (June 1-2, Phoenix); Asigra Partner Summit (June 6-8, Toronto), Cloud Expo (June 6-9, New York) and TruMethods Schnizzfest (June 9-11, Philadelphia).

3. New Owner, Same Channel: I visited Intermedia, the hosted Exchange specialist, to learn a bit more about the company’s new ownership structure. The key thing worth noting for VARs and MSPs: Intermedia’s channel partner leaders and MSP-centric focus remains intact. I will share more thoughts later this week.

2. Exit, Stage Left: By now, I suspect Autotask Chairman Bob Godgart has cleared out his CEO office at the Albany-based company. After a 10-year run, Godgart has ended his day-to-day role at the company. Godgart’s exit positions CEO Mark Cattini as Autotask’s executive leader going forward.

1. Surprises Coming: Expect lots of surprises at this week’s Ingram Micro Cloud Summit in Phoenix… including key moves from SaaS and RMM providers…

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading and for interacting on MSPmentor.
