Looking Ahead: Forming Effective Partnerships for Mutual Success

By Symantec Guest Blog

During the past two months, Symantec has published a series of blog posts exploring key takeaways from our Partner Engage event about forming successful partnerships. With 2014 coming to a close and the New Year approaching, now is a great time for companies to reflect on how they can better work with partners to solve customer challenges. Here are some of the key highlights and takeaways from the blogs:

·      Fundamentals of Successful Technology Partnerships – In our first blog post, we discussed how the fundamentals of strong technology partnerships remain the same, even as technology and the way customers conduct business change. The backbone of successful partnerships includes strong relationships between partners, consistent communication and a shared vision.

·      Technical Sales and Services Teams: Together is Better –  Next, we explored the important role Technical Sales and Services (TSS) teams play in achieving mutual success and also best practices for working with TSS teams. These teams are responsible for the end-to-end technical engagement with customers and partners throughout the sales process, and play an important role in delivering on our customers’ vision.

·      Partner Marketing: Working Toward Common Goals – Finally, we discussed how Symantec and its partners can collaborate to support marketing efforts to achieve common goals. Symantec is committed to finding new ways to collaborate together, and this post outlines several Symantec tools our partners can leverage to create integrated marketing plans to generate demand, create pipeline and exceed revenue goals.

Though our blog series on building successful partnerships has ended, Symantec is committed to continuing the conversation. Check out the blog posts and reach out to your Symantec contact and/or field representative to kick off the new year with a conversation about how we can better collaborate to achieve mutual success.

As the year comes to a close, I am thinking of all the goals we’ve attained together in 2014. I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to our continued partnership in 2015.
