China cloud solutions can be an effective way for cloud providers and resellers to alleviate a major pain point of their multinational customers.

China has experienced exponential growth during the past few decades and is already home to one of the world’s largest economies, accounting for over 15% of the total global GDP and continuing to mature at a staggering rate. Combined with an expanding middle class and widespread urbanization trends, China is fertile ground for foreign investment. It has become an essential destination for many Western businesses seeking growth and lucrative opportunities presented by the fastest-growing consumer market and the largest internet user base in the world. However, many of these businesses have found that making the move east comes with a host of unexpected complexities and challenges.

In addition to infrastructure procurement, deployment and management practices that differ from those in the west, there are also vastly different business, cultural and regulatory norms businesses will encounter. Many of these companies mistakenly assume that they can move forward with the same strategies and providers they use for other markets, a misconception that can lead to serious operational strife.

Herein lies an opportunity that many cloud providers and resellers may be overlooking. China could be a major pain point that your multinational customers are experiencing, but do you currently have a solution offering to fill this need? Chinese laws dictate that only Chinese companies can own and operate cloud infrastructure in the country, so any foreign company that provides cloud services in China is partnering with a local firm. But because China-focused cloud platforms are designed from the ground up to support Chinese regulations and the Chinese way of doing business, even the largest foreign cloud providers, despite partnering with smaller Chinese counterparts, are unable to compete with the capabilities, infrastructure, and, most importantly, finesse of larger native cloud providers.

Tencent Cloud is one of the largest and fastest growing native cloud providers in China and globally. As the cloud computing branch of one of the largest and most valuable technology companies in the world, Tencent has an immense amount of resources, and its products and services have achieved global brand recognition. With an extensive footprint in China, global engagement teams and decades of experience, we offer the perfect blend of local operations with international fluency to guide foreign companies through the challenges of expanding into China.
