Ever since Parallels Desktop first launched in June 2006, the virtualization solution has brought about unparalleled success for its users. This success poised to continue with the latest version, Parallels Desktop 17.

By providing macOS users with simultaneous, high-performance access to Windows and Linux operating systems, Parallels Desktop has become an indispensable tool for professional and private users alike.

In a business world heavily impacted by the global pandemic, Parallels has helped businesses and their IT teams quickly adapt to newly remote and hybrid work environments, where distributed teams need quick, secure access to critical business tools.

Every new release of Parallels Desktop introduces an array of additional features, tools and performance improvements, all tailored specifically to the most current versions of macOS and its supported operating systems.

Parallels Desktop 17 builds upon and enhances those capabilities. Launched in August 2021, this latest version has received rave reviews from the press as well as the Parallels user base.

According to Forbes, “for Intel-based Macs [Parallels Desktop 17 is] a solid, incremental update. For M1-based Macs it’s a breakthrough.” iMore magazine gave the product a perfect rating, stating, “Parallels Desktop 17 is a terrific product that deserves the five-star rating it’s receiving this year.”

Engadget notes the product’s “speed improvements across the board,” while MacHow2 remarked that “Parallels 17 is defined fast than ever,” “remains on the cutting edge of virtualization,” “and is the best way to run Windows on both Intel and M1 Macs.”

Not a “Normal” Product Update—A Breakthrough Virtualization Solution

Offered in three different versions (Standard, Business and Pro), Parallels Desktop 17 is far more than a basic performance update. It’s currently one of the few virtualization solutions available on the market that natively supports the recently released Mac computers with Apple M1 chip, macOS Monterey and Windows 11.

The list of performance improvements and new features offered by Parallels Desktop 17 is extensive. (You can check out the Parallels website for a summary of the latest features and updates and to download a free trial.)

Key highlights of Parallels Desktop 17 include new performance features and updated capabilities in the Business Edition that allow IT administrators to:

  • Quickly and easily provision pre-configured Windows virtual machines to Mac computers with Apple M1 chip. All IT administrators must do is install the necessary applications, prepare a package, upload it to cloud storage, and provide users with a download link and description in their Parallels account.

  • Deploy the solution on a heterogeneous, multi-architecture Mac fleet in a single step. Since Parallels Desktop 17 is a universal binary file, IT administrators only need to create one single package for both Intel and M1-based Mac computers.

  • Create an independent virtual machine from a linked clone in just two clicks. This reduces the amount of time it takes to complete administrative tasks.

In addition, Parallels Desktop 17 features an improved Coherence Mode. This enables users to run a Windows app without launching into the full Windows UI, allowing them to drag and drop between Mac and Windows applications. Parallels Desktop 17 also works well with the new macOS Monterey Quick Note feature.

The solution also includes all usual Parallels Desktop features, such as 24/7 phone and email support, centralized solution management, and a unified license key for rolling out to multiple Mac computers.

Unique Features Make Parallels an Ideal Solution for Your Customers

Given the vast array of hardware and software solutions on the market today, it can be tough to convince potential customers that a product is truly indispensable or will make a major difference in how they complete tasks or do business.

But Parallels Desktop 17 isn’t just another update––it’s a completely revamped offering that sets it far apart it from the competition.

It’s an ideal solution for companies and end users that want to take full advantage of the performance enhancements, versatility, and remote work capabilities offered by virtual machines.

As one of the few virtualization solutions available on the market that natively supports the recently released Mac computers with Apple M1 chip, macOS Monterey and Windows 11, Parallels Desktop 17 offers a singular unique selling proposition for your customers.
