Sitecore CEO Michael Seifert said both hires will assist the company with "brand awareness and go-to-market success around the world."

Customer experience management software developer Sitecore appointed two familiar faces to the company's leadership team today. Former Salesforce.com (CRM) Marketing VP Jeff Thomas was tapped as Sitecore's new chief marketing officer (CMO), and former Intel (INTC) Senior Managing Director Gregory Symon was hired as Sitecore's senior vice president of North American client and partner engagement. What will their new positions entail? We'll reveal the answer.

As CMO, Thomas will head the company's global marketing team, transforming Sitecore's marketing strategy across the entire business as a whole and in the global market.

"I look forward to building on Sitecore’s content-centric approach and help transform the customer engagement marketplace, enabling marketers to deliver the content — and experiences — that matter most to their audiences," Thomas said in a prepared statement.

During his time at Salesforce.com, Thomas helped launch the Salesforce Platform.

Symon, serving as Sitecore's senior vice president of client and partner engagement, will lead the company's sales and partner teams in the North American region.

"I’ve joined a tremendously skilled team of sales professionals dedicated to growing Sitecore's sales and partnerships in North America and beyond," he said in his prepared remarks. "Sitecore has more than 3,000 innovative customers and partners already, and I look forward to the next 3,000 and beyond."

Symon worked with Intel for more than 20 years, but most recently served as the Red Hat Inc. (RHT) vice president and general manager of North American commercial sales.

Sitcore said in a statement that the company plans to use both hires to enhance Sitecore's global and North American executive team by leveraging their abilities to execute the company's technology vision for its customers.

Sitecore CEO Michael Seifert said in his prepared remarks that both hires will assist the company with "brand awareness and go-to-market success around the world."

"Jeff and Gregory are exceptional leaders who possess a keen understanding of how to bridge the marketing and sales organizations to ultimately put Sitecore on the short list of every digital marketer," he added.
