SherWeb is offering a new cloud-based business email and collaboration suite to value-added resellers (VARs) looking for an alternative to Microsoft (MSFT) Office 365.
The SkyOffice 2013 suite powered by Microsoft Exchange packages Hosted Exchange 2013, Hosted SharePoint 2013, Hosted Lync 2013 and SkyNox 2013 (online backup and recovery) into one communications and collaboration product.
The suite goes beyond email, including features such as instant messaging, video conferencing and simultaneous editing of documents.
The Sherbrooke, Quebec-based cloud services provider (CSP) noted that while its suite shares some of the same basic functionality as Office 365, “its value proposition goes well beyond Microsoft’s hosted entry-level platform.”
According to the company, its SkyOffice 2013 provides VARs with the following advantages:
