Racemi has updated its DynaCenter cloud migration software to make it easier for enterprises to move large applications to the cloud.

The cloud migration software provider added a delta-data synchronization feature to DynaCenter that recognizes block-level changes to files and securely transmits the modified blocks.

“[This feature] will reduce manual effort and improve data consistency, specifically with the cut-over process from the old production servers to the new production environment, which will be even smoother than before,” James Strayer, Racemi’s vice president of product management, told Talkin’ Cloud.

DynaCenter enables customers “to easily migrate server workloads between dissimilar physical, virtual and cloud platforms,” Racemi said. The software also features an automated server migration process.

Racemi noted the new DynaCenter feature can help systems integrators migrate several types of large enterprise apps to the cloud, including:

“Once [customers’] servers are migrated and their verification testing is complete, customers need to ensure that their new cloud servers have the latest production configuration and data prior to ‘cutting over’ from the current production servers to these new servers,” Strayer said in a prepared statement. “This update to DynaCenter automates this procedure and minimizes data latency to provide a trouble-free cut-over process.”

How does the delta-data sync feature work?

Racemi said the delta-data sync feature ensures new servers have the most recent production configurations and settings prior to the migration cut-over process.

The feature also leverages AES/RSA SSL encryption over firewall-friendly, fault-tolerant outbound HTTPS connections to provide maximum protection and reliability.

Strayer added he believes the DynaCenter update could help cloud services providers (CSPs) and managed service providers (MSPs) become more efficient.

“It will allow them to automate the migration of their customers’ complex, multi-tier applications into the cloud, helping them increase account penetration by supporting migration of business critical applications. Plus, migration project timelines can be reduced, which improves customer satisfaction while reducing overall project costs,” he said.
