Peak Adds Two More Cloud Nodes in Coast-to-Coast Expansion
Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud provider (CSP) Peak, formerly known as PeakColo, has added two additional cloud nodes, one in Santa Clara, Calif. and the other in Atlanta, Ga., to assist channel partners with moving customers to the cloud.
The expansion enables Peak to leverage its partnership with Telx by becoming part of the new Telx Cloud/MSP Enablement Program, which provides Telx customers with “an array of complementary managed services to layer atop their colocation environments.”
Peak said the cloud node expansion brings its total cloud presence up to eight distinct geographies throughout the United States and Europe.
Peak founder and CEO Luke Norris, (who we recently featured in Friday’s Last Word) told Talkin’ Cloud in an interview that “in order to be considered a viable locale for future cloud nodes,” the company follows specific criteria.
Potential locations must “have a high concentration of channel partner office locations” and “a high percentage of end user businesses within a 300 mile radius.”
With the addition of these two cloud nodes, Norris said, Peak will continue to improve speed and provide a greater presence to channel partners.
Norris said Peak’s expansion throughout the country will continue. “Our goal is to have a presence in every major NFL city over the next few years,” he said.
Peak said the new cloud nodes will be available in January 2014.
