Knowledge Vault today launched a cloud-based analytics platform that is designed to provide users with greater visibility into configuration and data leakage issues.

The New York-based company said its new release offers analytics-as-a-service, which it hopes will enable IT administrators, managed service providers (MSPs) and Microsoft (MSFT) resellers to leverage cloud-based collaboration tools to manage configuration and data leakage problems without having to sacrifice control.

“Managing configuration and enforcing and auditing appropriate access and license management, to name a few [issues], still need to be performed effectively. By delivering the analytics-as-a-service [platform], Knowledge Vault lets limited IT resources be allocated more strategically,” Knowledge Vault CEO Christian Ehrenthal said in a prepared statement.

Ehrenthal added that the new platform is designed to help users better manage their data by allowing them to automate:

“The advantage of cloud platforms is increased flexibility and reduced,” Ehrenthal said. “We designed and launched the Knowledge Vault platform to reduce risk and costs, improve decision-making and ensure good data governance.”

A free community version of Knowledge Vault’s analytics-as-a-service platform is now available.

Knowledge Vault also pointed out that it will continue to search for partner feedback about its analytics-as-a-service platform as it plans for 2015 and beyond.

“In addition to our free community version and community forums where our users can share reports and feedback, we will continue to be very channel-focused in 2015,” a Knowledge Vault spokesperson told Talkin’ Cloud. “We are currently working with multiple partners and have an aggressive roadmap based on feedback to date.”
