Cloud-based email deliverability specialist SendGrid has joined the Google (GOOG) Cloud Platform Partner Program to bring its email delivery management solution to Google App Engine developers.

SendGrid said this collaboration with Google enables developers to focus on the larger picture of building applications rather than spending time and resources to ensure app-triggered emails reach users.

SendGrid CEO Jim Franklin said in his prepared remarks that the Google Cloud Platform Partner Program allows SendGrid to integrate transactional and marketing email with the Google Cloud Platform.

“The Google Cloud Platform offers a broad set of application development, cloud storage, large scale computing and big data capabilities, bringing SendGrid to more than 300,000 developers building on the Google Cloud Platform,” he said.

Google App Engine customers who sign up for SendGrid qualify for 25,000 free emails per month. This offer includes basic deliverability features, SMTP server integration and APIs, customer support, and analytics. Additional pricing plans are also available.

In related news, Google Apps for Business and the search giant’s enterprise products are now used by more than 50 percent of Fortune 500 companies.
