Data center provider CoreSite (COR) has opened a new data center, NY2, in Secaucus, N.J. to expand the company's New York campus, NY1, with an additional 280,000 square feet of connected data center space.

The new data center will mesh together capacity, connectivity and community.

NY2 will include18 critical megawatts of capacity; low-latency connectivity to metro communication facilities; access to 75-plus networks, Amazon Web Services (AMZN) Direct Connect, and global cable routes; LEED, Energy Star, and SSAE-16 Type II certified; and on-site parking.

The company told MSPmentor in an email that the facility will provide CoreSite customers access to one of the "largest footprints in the New York market with direct tethering capabilities to NY1 and other regional communication hubs."

CoreSite said it positioned NY2 in the area to develop large communities in many industries including financial, cloud services, and digital content.
