Asigra Offers Single-pass BDR for Microsoft Exchange Users
Asigra, a Talkin’ Cloud top 100 cloud services provider (CSP), has made enhancements to its single-pass backup and recovery software for Microsoft (MSFT) Exchange users to assist with various levels of recovery, from single emails to complete databases.
The company said these Exchange enhancements provide recovery operations across standalone email servers, server clusters or on virtual machines.
According to the company, its Asigra Cloud Backup version 12.2 was designed to include the following enhancements for Exchange users:
- Single-pass Microsoft Exchange Backup — Recover data to the level of granularity needed from a single backup of the Microsoft Exchange database.
- Granular recovery — Restore the complete database, individual accounts, or just a single email based on user requirements.
- Restore location — Have the ability to recover the information to the same location that the data was backed up from or to an alternate location of the user’s choosing.
- Non-disruptive backup — Backup large email repositories without affecting the performance of the application.
- Enterprise scalability — Protection that ranges from single instances to large Exchange clusters in physical and virtual implementations.
- Automated backup — Automate backup operations through features that include scheduling options and automated inclusions of new mailboxes, reducing the need for manual intervention.
Asigra Senior Product Marketing Manager Helen Ching said in a prepared statement that email recovery time is essential in today’s business environments.
“At Asigra, we understand this,” Ching said. “This is why we have built a backup and recovery platform to support Microsoft Exchange users in achieving fast and effective data recovery of critical emails at Recovery Time Objectives set by the user. The enhancement is expected to be well-received by both current and new users of our software.”
Asigra Cloud Backup v12.2 with single-pass backup and recovery for Microsoft Exchange is available immediately. There are no additional license fees for existing Asigra users.
To compete in the cloud backup and recovery space, Asigra launched a new recovery-based pricing model back in July 2013 that decouples backup and recovery licenses to “bring pricing in line with the true value of backup—data recovery.”
