ThreatLocker Dublin

U.S. cybersecurity firm ThreatLocker is pushing into Europe with the opening of a new Dublin, Ireland, headquarters.

The Dublin HQ marks the first step of a major European expansion plan for ThreatLocker. It comes as the EU prepares to introduce major new legislation. The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) will place additional cybersecurity requirements on financial service providers.

ThreatLocker said the move into Ireland is a strategic one. The company wants to capitalise on DORA and the growing need for businesses to strengthen their cybersecurity.

The company’s zero-trust endpoint security platform helps protect organizations from ransomware other cyberattacks. It does so by controlling which software can run in their environments.

ThreatLocker History

ThreatLocker was founded in 2017 by CEO Danny Jenkins (pictured above, right), COO Sami Jenkins (middle, next to Ireland Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney) and John Carolan. Danny Jenkins described the launch as “a major strategic milestone” for ThreatLocker’s expansion into Europe.

“Our company has many Irish links and Dublin is the EU headquarters of so many major global companies, so it is the perfect location. ThreatLocker has ambitious targets for growth and we are very excited to push ahead with this new phase in our company’s history,” said Jenkins. “We are aiming to strengthen our foothold in the EMEA region and help businesses protect themselves from increasing cyberattacks including ransomware.”

He added that ‘’there are huge opportunities in Ireland and across the EU at the moment.”

“Cybersecurity is an increasing problem for many businesses with the number of sophisticated cyberattacks increasing day by day, costing businesses huge amounts of money. The introduction of DORA across the EU will also see financial services providers upping their game to protect themselves and their customers from attack.’’

ThreatLocker grew 530% last year in the MSP industry and it now has thousands of MSP partners. The Florida-based vendor raised $100 million in Series C funding in April 2022. It then made its first acquisition in November 2022 with Third Wall, which allows MSPs to better secure Windows operating systems.

The new Dublin office is in Blanchardstown. It will create 120 jobs, the company said.
