A new partnership with international distributor Westcon will allow the cloud communications provider 8×8 to expand its reach.

The team-up starts initially in the United Kingdom and Ireland this month. It will provide Westcon’s partners with a UCaaS and CCaaS public cloud solution via a wholesale model.

John DeLozier is 8×8’s senior vice president and global channel chief.

“Westcon has an exemplary global track record delivering maximum value and success for its partners,” he said. “We see great value partnering with the leading technology distributor as it is strategic to our channel-first efforts in the U.K. and Europe.”

The 8×8 integrated cloud contact center, voice communications, team chat and video meetings product helps organizations with a distributed workforce to connect, collaborate and engage from anywhere with colleagues and customers.

Here’s our most recent list of important channel-program changes you should know.

“As organizations shift to distributed workforces and an operate-from-anywhere model, the need for an integrated cloud communications and contact center platform for enhanced employee and customer engagement is increasingly in demand,” DeLozier said.

Microsoft Teams Integration

Microsoft is also a Westcon partner. 8×8’s integrated voice communications direct routing and contact center solution is certified for Microsoft Teams. Therefore, that represents an additional incentive for 8×8 and Westcon to enter the distribution agreement.

8×8’s Teams integration gives partners and their clients flexibility on how they use Teams for voice calling and customer engagement. That allows organizations, their employees and contact center agents to interact with colleagues and customers from any Teams endpoint.

Rene Klein is senior vice president of Westcon Europe.

“8×8’s excellent product offering will no doubt drive impressive results with our partner community,” he said. “Our track record in collaboration and communications technologies, combined with our recent growth in cloud and managed service providers puts us in a unique position to support 8×8’s business goals.”
