New Products, Services to Sell: Windstream, Poly, Cisco

  • Written by James Anderson
  • October 11, 2019
UCaaS solutions and partner tools are featured heavily in this roundup.

Windstream scaled its unified communications platform, and Avant launched a nifty SD-WAN resource.

The telco and IT sides of channel were busy last month unveiling new products and enhancements. Dell announced a new appliance series in the data protection realm, SkySwitch announced a partnership with an SD-WAN provider, and SolarWinds is targeting password management.

We assembled a list of the latest channel-facing products and services each month to keep you up to date on opportunities to expand your technology portfolio.

Stroll through the 12 images below to see a dozen new offerings and initiatives.

Growth
Poly

The voice and video conferencing provider launched a new wireless IP-based phone system.

Poly announced the VVX D230 as part of an effort to play in the digital enhanced cordless telecommunications (DECT) market. It at the same time launched a device-as-a-service (DaaS) program.

The company also introduced the Trio 8300 audio conferencing system.

Growth
Viasat

The satellite internet provider allowed master agents to sell its services in more areas.

Viasat gave the green light for telecom agent sales in Mexico, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Viasat's vice president and general manager of global business solutions said partners had been asking for years to be able to sell outside the continental U.S. The offering includes “high-speed unlimited and metered data internet plans.”

Growth
Avant

The Chicago-based master unveiled an SD-WAN guide.

The SD-WAN 6-12 Report measures present and future disruption in the industry and describes dozens of vendors. CEO Ian Kieninger said his company is proud to offer its partners original market research without relying on third-party analyst reports.

"It's sewn in the trenches, pulling real-time data – the first of its kind – and handing it out this community to accelerate their growth," Kieninger said.

Avant will cover other technologies in future reports.

Growth
Windstream

Windstream Enterprise updated its unified communications platform.

The managed communications services provider scaled its OfficeSuite UC platform to support larger companies. Companies with up to 20,000 employees can now use the solution, which will "cost-effectively simplify administration and create a uniform user experience," according to a Windstream executive.

Growth
Cisco

Cisco Systems announced a sweeping set of enhancements to its contact center portfolio.

The vendor integrated artificial intelligence assets into its offerings following its acquisitions of CloudCherry, Voicea and Accompany. Cisco also scaled its Webex Contact Center solution to allow 3,000 agents per tenant and improved the interactive Voice Response (IVR) feature.

Growth
Barracuda

The security and application delivery provider updated its remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform for the first time.

The Managed Workplace offering now gives MSPs the ability to apply patches and software updates for more than 100 vendors. Barracuda MSP’s senior vice president and general manager said MSPs should stay up-to-date with new patches to keep their customers safe.

"With advanced software management, MSPs can enhance their security service offering and improve their customers’ security posture with centralized management of patch and software updates according to best practices," he said.

Growth
SolarWinds MSP

SolarWinds MSP is encouraging partners to sell password management as a service.

The company announced an MDF promotion for MSPs that use the SolarWinds Passportal Site to manage their customers' passwords. The website is designed to centralize and guard passwords, manage employee's data access rights and perform other functions.

“SolarWinds’ password portal will make compliance and peace of mind easy to achieve. The weak link of passwords are no longer an obstacle to be reckoned with," a SolarWinds executive said.

Growth
SAP

SAP launched new cloud-managed services that make it easier to build AI-based solutions.

The company updated its data-intelligence offering to combine its data integration with machine-learning capabilities. The end result is an opportunity for partners to build solutions that use AI and "gather data from different sources."

Jeff Schwartz wrote about SAP.
Growth
Dell

The vendor launched a new generation of data protection solutions.

Dell executives say the Dell EMC PowerProtect DD appliance series performs faster and more efficiently. Dell also enhanced its PowerProtect and PowerProtect Cyber Recovery offerings. The updates address how data is becoming increasingly edge-based and multicloud.

Check out Lynn Haber's article.
Growth
D&H

ConnectWise and SkyKick joined D&H Distributing's Cloud Solutions Marketplace.

The distributor said its MSP and VAR partners can access professional service automation (PSA) and remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools. The update helps them "monetize the cloud market opportunity," a D&H executive said.

D&H relaunched the marketplace three years ago. Its stated goal is to help partners quickly adopt recurring revenue.

Growth
SkySwitch-Adaptiv

Network-as-a-service provider Adaptiv Networks and the white-label UCaaS provider SkySwitch partnered to combine UCaaS with cloud connectivity.

SkySwitch resellers will benefit from Adaptiv's network visibility and network control.

"With the demand for software-defined network services on the rise, SkySwitch has made the strategic decision to align with a company that leads the market. Adaptiv Networks stands out with powerful, frictionless cloud connectivity services," a SkySwitch executive said.

Growth
Kaseya

The IT management provider is betting big on compliance solutions.

Kaseya announced late last month that it was pouring $10 million into its compliance business unit. Allison Francis wrote that well-known regulations like HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, and FINRA have "trickled downward" from the large enterprise to SMBs.

Francis wrote the story for Channel Futures.
