New Services Roundup: Verizon, Cisco, Telarus, Vonage

It was a packed month for new services in the channel.
Conferences mean product launches.
Several large vendor summits kept the news wire busy during the month of June. HPE Discover in particular was a massive event that saw multiple new offerings announced. There was also Cisco Live, where the networking company built on its intentions of competing with Microsoft in the collaboration market.
We saw a mix of different technologies. Verizon and Aruba both rolled out new software-defined networking products, and Barracuda Networks has a new phishing-prevention offering.

Telarus
The master agent upgraded the UCaaS Matrix resource that it launched in 2016.
The website, available in the Telarus back office, lets partners narrow down a long list of vendors based on attributes and competencies and make head-to-head comparisons. Telarus has also added matrices for SD-WAN, security, cloud and call center.
Telarus made the announcement at its Partner Xchange conference.

Verizon Business Markets launched a software-defined branch offering for customers and partners.
Verizon’s 4G LTE network serves as a backup, and its threat management and encryption help ensure security. The Verizon Enterprise Center online portal allows users to purchase, deploy and manage the solution from a mobile application.
Versa Networks powers the Software-Defined Secure Branch solution, which is now accessible.

Vonage
Vonage unveiled new contact-center capabilities through Nexmo, its API platform, including split recording, real-time text-to-speech translation, onAnswer and WebRTC supported by the Nextmo Voice API.
Developers and businesses can implement the capabilities globally, individually or in combination, to augment an existing contact center, or they can offer the capabilities as a stand-alone offering.

Cisco launched Webex Teams, brings together the overlapping features of its Spark and WebEx solutions.
Cisco is waging a battle for customer and partner wallet with a “Teams” offering that follows Microsoft's decision to roll its Skype for Business and Teams offerings into one platform.

Hewlett-Packard Enterprise updated its software-defined infrastructure and cloud portfolio to allow customers to automate and streamline data-center operations, gain insights more quickly across their hybrid clouds, and enhance service delivery to their internal customers.
HPE also debuted GreenLake Hybrid Cloud and the new HPE Edgeline family of products designed to help businesses simplify their hybrid IT environments.

Rackspace
The cloud provider updated its VMware-powered private cloud and Kubernetes private cloud. Both “as-a-service” clouds use HPE’s Greenlake Flex Capacity to create an on-demand consumption model.
Rackspace also added partner-driven colocation services to fill needs for customers that aren’t ready to give up complete control of their IT infrastructures as they move to the cloud.

The new SD-Branch delivers Aruba’s new and first SD-WAN capabilities delivered through new gateway platforms — branch gateways and head-end gateways.
The new offer is designed to help customers eliminate the conventional silos of separately managed security, WAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure that have existed in the branch office. Aruba also added SD-WAN capability to Aruba Central, the vendor’s cloud-based management platform.

Extreme Networks announced the Smart OmniEdge family of products, which is designed to enhance the edge network experience.
The Smart OmniEdge technologies include: ExtremeAI for Smart OmniEdge; Extreme Cloud Appliance; Extreme Extended Edge Switching; and Extreme Defender for IoT. The new products fuse together technology from acquisitions over the past year and a half.

Salesforce introduced B2B Commerce, the latest addition to its Commerce Cloud, built on the Salesforce platform.

The company wants companies and their customers to have the same experience with B2B Commerce as they do with other services in the Commerce Cloud lineup. The company made the announcement at its Connections Conference in Chicago.

StorageCraft
The data backup and disaster-recovery provider introduced its new ConnectWise Professional Services Automation (PSA) integration and Remote Management Monitoring (RMM) plug-in.
MSPs will experience “improved speed, scale and efficiency” from the ConnectWise platform as they manage and run their data-protection businesses using StorageCraft solutions, according to the company.
The company announced enhancements and increased investment in integration during ConnectWise’s Automation Nation conference.

PhishLine can prevent email fraud, data loss and brand damage by training and testing employees to recognize highly targeted phishing attacks, the company said. It’s now available in multiple versions to suit the needs of organizations of all sizes.
