  • March’s Channel People on the Move

    This Channel People on the Move thing is rolling.

    More and more of you are asking to be a part of our monthly gallery highlighting new hires and promotions in the telecom and IT indirect sales channels. So once again we’ve had to whittle all of the moves down to a baker’s dozen plus two.

    These are the channel leaders and executives who will make decisions critical to the futures of their businesses — and of course, their partners.

    So who will you find in this edition? We’ve got the masters covered: Telarus? Check. Intelisys? Check. Avant? Check.

    Want new channel chiefs? We’ve got several. Among them: Peak 10, Pivot3, enSilo and TrapX Security. And many of these faces have histories with other companies you know — Level 3, Integra and Cisco, to name a few.

  • People on the Move: Telarus’ Koby Phillips

    Telarus tapped a new channel leader for the Pacific Northwest.

    Koby Phillips now serves as the master’s Northwest senior partner development manager. He reports to Mike Bettilyon, regional vice president of the company’s Mountain West region.

    He most recently managed channel sales for Level 3 in the same region. His new job is to help recruit partners and develop current partners’ unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) and SD-WAN practices.

  • People on the Move: Intelisys’ Brian Hou

    Intelisys, the master agent that’s now a ScanSource company, appointed Brian Hou as senior manager of strategic partner development in the West Region.

    A 10-year telecom industry veteran with more than 20 years of sales experience, Hou is supporting sales partners in Northern California and Northern Nevada.

    Most recently, Hou held a national channel manager position at Level 3 for two years, which was preceded by his six-year role as senior channel manager with tw telecom.

  • People on the Move: Peak10’s Dave Sroka

    Peak 10 tapped channel veteran Dave Sroka as its new chief.

    As vice president of channel sales, Sroka is in charge of leading the next “high-growth phase” of the company’s Partner Alliance Program, where he will focus on enhancing Peak 10’s commitment to and alignment with the channel community. He most recently was CoreSite’s vice president of agent and channel sales and prior to that was director of sales for Level 3.

  • People on the Move: Avant’s Shane McNamara

    Avant hired Shane McNamara as executive vice president of channel sales for the East.

    McNamara and Jen Gallego, executive vice president of channel sales, will manage the company’s East and West territories, respectively, to grow its channel partner community and help accelerate sales of next-generation technologies, the company said.

    McNamara previously served as Qology Direct’s senior vice president of business services. Before that, he was XO’s channel partner vice president, and CDW’s general manager for carrier sales.

  • People on the Move: MHO Networks’ Jamie Minner

    MHO Networks, the ISP and metro Ethernet provider, hired Jamie Minner as its new vice president of sales.

    Minner, a Momentum Telecom veteran, says his goals for MHO include expanding to the East Coast, becoming a household name within the business and partner communities, and onboarding more master agents.

  • People on the Move: Broadview Networks

    Broadview Networks formally announced a handful of new hires to support partners in various regions around the U.S.

    The new channel managers, clockwise from top left, are: Aaron Conant, based in Seattle; John McDonald, who calls Connecticut home; Ray Ferrer, based in Long Beach, California; and Jennifer Sansivero-Dutter, who will support partners from her home base of Chicago.

  • People on the Move: ZL Technologies’ Erna Arnesen

    ZL Technologies hired Erna Arnesen, a Plantronics and Cisco alum, as chief channel and alliance officer. She’ll be in charge of developing a channel and go-to-market strategy for the company’s products and services, with a focus on ZL File Analysis and Management (ZL FAM).

  • People on the Move: Pivot3’s Mark Maisano

    Pivot3 named an indirect sales vet seasoned with distributor experience as its new channel chief.

    Mark Maisano now serves as vice president of channel sales for the hyperconverged infrastructure provider. He will manage strategic partnerships and lead sales across several verticals, including financial services, health care and transportation. Pivot3 sells 100 percent through the channel.

  • People on the Move: TrapX’s Dan Sibille

    TrapX Security hired Dan Sibille to join its executive team as vice president of worldwide channels.

    Sibille is responsible for expanding the reach of the company’s multi-tier DeceptionGrid product beyond “its successful market penetration” in the U.S. and Europe. He has more than 20 years of experience building and growing channel operations for leading organizations.

    Sibille previously was Cisco’s global lead of security channel strategy and partnerships. He also has held executive sales and channel management positions at Lancope (acquired by Cisco), Extreme Networks, IBM, WatchGuard and 3Com.

  • People on the Move: enSilo’s Chris Marra

    Endpoint security provider enSilo launched a global partner program and appointed Chris Marra as director of channel sales.

    Marra brings to enSilo more than 15 years of security industry experience in sales and management roles at Symantec, Dell, Tripwire, BAE Systems and Fortinet.

  • People on the Move: Netsurion-EventTracker’s Guy Cunningham

    Recently-merged security providers Netsurion and EventTracker brought on a new channel chief.

    Guy Cunningham is VP of channel sales and distribution for both companies. Netsurion offers managed security services for data and network, and EventTracker offers security information and event management (SIEM).

    Cunningham will work to build the Netsurion and EventTracker channel programs that consist of resellers, MSPs and distributors. He has worked in a variety of indirect sales roles for multiple companies, and most of the companies were part of the cybersecurity industry.

  • People on the Move: Natterbox’s Ian Moyse

    Ian Moyse is the new sales director for Natterbox, the cloud-based voice service provider.

    He is well-known in the U.K. technology sector, having been recognized as UK Sales Director of the Year  by the Institute of Sales & Marketing. He holds a non-exec adviser role at Assuredata and sits on the boards of industry bodies FAST and the Cloud Industry Forum.

  • People on the Move: Digital Shadows’ Alex Seton

    Digital Shadows, the external digital risk-management firm, named Alex Seton as vice president of business and corporate development.

    He’s tasked with promoting the companies services through an “innovative partner ecosystem, investment and go-to-market approach.”

    Seton previously served as founding VP of business development, channels and strategic alliances at Solera Networks. He also was vice president of corporate development at Blue Coat Systems, and held executive roles at Cisco, LANDesk and Novell.

  • People on the Move: Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise’s Lisa Simpson

    ALE (Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise) formally introduced Lisa Simpson, formerly with Nokia, as vice president of channel sales and distribution strategy in North America.

    She is responsible for driving revenue growth in the channel by expanding the company’s North American reseller and distributor base, and developing new opportunities to support partners in key vertical markets — education and transportation, in particular. She brings 20 years of experience from the IT and telecom industries.

  • People on the Move: Advantage Communications Group’s David Bass

    Advantage Communications Group, the telecom, IT and cloud services distributor, hired David Bass as its new director of business development.

    Bass’ more than 25 years of experience extends across business development, channel management, account management, strategic growth, network design and technology migrations throughout telecom and IT. He has held leadership positions with Comcast Metrophone, Advanced Telecom, Cavalier Telephone, MCI, Qwest, and most recently, CenturyLink.
