July’s New Services Roundup
We’re back again with the freshest new products and services to hit the market — many of which partners can sell now or will be able to soon.
They run the vast telecom-IT spectrum, from new SIP services to products for the all-flash data center. And they’re from some of the industry’s best-known suppliers — XO Communications, Verizon, Microsoft and CenturyLink, just to name a few. Master agents and distributors – such as Avant, Avnet and Ingram Micro – also are represented here.

July’s New Services: XO’s Simplified SIP
XO Communications unveiled SIPack, a new service that delivers session initiated protocol (SIP)-based voice service over a private, dedicated connection.SIPack includes features to deliver “call quality, control, reliability and business continuity,” the company said.

July’s New Services: Verizon’s Virtualization Quest
Verizon Enterprise Solutions launched Virtual Network Services, which it says will help companies move to a virtual infrastructure model.
Calling it the next step in its SDN and NFV strategy, Verizon says partners will deliver the multi-vendor solution as-a-service in three deployment models: cloud-based virtual customer premises equipment (CPE) services, premises-based universal CPE services and hybrid services. The solution is readily available to agents, but Lonker said Verizon is working on making it available to resellers.

July’s New Services: Microsoft’s App Marketplace, Surface as a Service
Microsoft announced its new business app marketplace – AppSource – on the second day of its Worldwide Partner Conference. Partners can use it not only to help customers find the applications they need, but those who develop their own apps can put them in the marketplace via an “easy onboard process.”
Also, for SMB customers looking for no muss, no fuss IT, they can now get Surface as a Service, a new flexible purchase option that’s part of the new Surface global reseller program.

July’s New Services: Sophos’ SafeGuard Encryption 8
Sophos, the network and endpoint security provider, called on partners to take the adoption of encryption to a new level.
The U.K.-based company announced its SafeGuard Encryption 8 solution, designed to protect against security leaks, malware and other cyberattacks. Sophos said a perk of its new offering is that it is “always-on” as it follows files and works across Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

July’s New Services: CenturyLink’s Location-Based Analytics
CenturyLink introduced its new Location-Based Analytics, an Internet of Things (IoT) service for owners and operators to create personalized experiences for visitors to their business venues.
The mobile service features Wi-Fi technology and an analytics platform to gather relevant customer demographic and location data, analytics capabilities to discern business insights, and social engagement and marketing tools for businesses to act on data findings in real-time, according to CenturyLink.

July’s New Services: Ingram Micro’s New Odin Functionality
Distributor Ingram Micro expanded its cloud ecosystem by adding new functionality to the Odin Service Automation platform that the company acquired in December 2015.
Examples of primarily user-driven upgrades in version 7.0 are an enhanced control panel, new payment options, a new way to log in, easier integration with third-party services, and new branding options.

July’s New Services: RCN’s Cloud-Based Managed Security
RCN Business, the voice, data and video provider, launches RCN Managed Security in a partnership with Versa Networks.
The new offering is a cloud-based managed security service designed to enable businesses to efficiently manage information security and monitor network activity. The service is available now to RCN Business customers using the company’s fiber-based services.

July’s New Services: Avant’s Acronis Backup Cloud Distribution
Acronis and Avant Communications partnered to distribute Acronis Backup Cloud to for Office 365 data. Avant VARs, MSPs and telecom agents now have access to the solution for the first time.
Customers use Acronis Backup Cloud to provide an additional level of data protection for email, calendar and other email Office365 related tools.

July’s New Services: Avnet’s Midmarket Mobility Suite for EMC Partners
Distributor Avnet introduced the VCE VxRail Appliance Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite Mobility Solutions Framework, designed to link private cloud, public cloud and mobile device functionality.
Avnet’s EMC partners can now offer a “viable” IT platform for organizations to make as a foundation for mobility service-delivery programs.

July’s New Services: Sungard AS’ Cloud-Based Recovery for AWS
Sungard Availability Services launched a cloud-based recovery solution for partners to sell. The company said Sungard AS Cloud-based Recovery for Amazon Web Services will help customers respond to system failures, in addition to regulatory requirements.
The service provides storage replication, automated recovery of protected workloads and off-site storage. Sungard AS said it can now reduce its recovery-time objectives down to two hours. The solution replicates, encrypts, compresses and stores data.

July’s New Services: Brocade’s All-Flash Data Center Switch
Brocade announced a new switch to its Gen 6 Fibre Channel. It is designed for storage connectivity and business resiliency in the all-flash data center.
Brocade first delivered the Gen 6 Fibre Channel in March. The company said the Brocade X6 director family and other technologies that work with will help customers “drive always-on business operations.”

July’s New Services: Stratoscale’s Cloud Data Center Software Update
Stratoscale, the cloud infrastructure provider, rolled out Symphony V2, the second generation of its cloud data-center software developed in direct response to customer demands and industry trends.
For businesses of all sizes looking to augment their aging VMware infrastructure, Stratoscale Symphony can be deployed on any x86 server, and provides an Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience in hours, the company said.
