Ingram Micro One, held Nov. 27-30 in Dallas, drew more 1,500 attendees, including manufacturers, solution providers and Ingram Micro associates.
The 750 partners who attended the conference had access to regional meetings, community meetings for the Trust X Alliance and SMB Alliance, manufacturer breakouts, business workshops, Ingram Micro breakouts, keynote sessions with executive leadership, and, of course, the Solutions Showcase. Cisco, Lenovo and VMware were some of the main vendors in attendance.

Day 1 KeynotePaul Bay, general manager and executive vice president of

Lounge
Lenovo sponsored a lounge where conference attendees caught up with colleagues and business partners or reached out to meet new ones. Relationship-building at industry conferences gets high marks from partners looking to grow their businesses.
CiscoNirav Sheth, vice president solutions of architecture and engineering for
Cisco Global Partner Organization, led the keynote session: "Cisco – Capitalizing on the Digital Opportunity Together." Sheth talked about how to accelerate business and capitalize on today’s digital opportunities and said that customers are looking to vendors and partners to decipher the complexity in the market to improve their businesses, increase top and bottom-line growth, and differentiate in the marketplace.
Cisco, he noted, is placing its bets and prioritizing, insuring the delivery of a security intelligent platform for digital business. He highlighted Cisco’s security portfolio; the crucial nature of networking; and how Cisco, its partners and customers are poised to succeed in a multi-cloud world, unlock the power in the data and intelligence, and help transform the experiences that customers deliver to their workforce and customers.
Solutions Showcase
The interactive Ingram Micro One Solutions Showcase was filled with vendors, partners, products, solutions and services. The Showcase included Spectrum City, which highlighted five vertical markets – education, healthcare, retail, finance, and local, state and federal government.
VMware
The
VMware booth was represented by Kathy Sardina, senior national account manager and Justin Jarosz, national account manager, who were there to educate partners on virtualization, cloud and mobility.
Showcase Floor
Ingram Micro Canada was represented on the Solutions Showcase floor. The booth included: Hewlett Packard Enterprise; Eaton, IBM, McAfee, Microsoft, Scale Computing, StarTech.com, Citrix, ConnectWise and Dell EMC.
VAR Staffing
VAR Staffing representative Todd Billiar, was among those staffing the company’s booth. The technology recruiting specialist works exclusively with VARs and MSPs. Some of the staffing talent the company provides is virtual CEO, systems engineer, network administrator, cloud architect, etc. As a Penton think tank discussed at the Channel Partners Evolution conference, the technology industry is facing a
talent shortage.
VerticalsRetail, an area where Ingram Micro has
made strides to perform well, was one of five vertical markets that were a part of Spectrum City, which was a vertical market exhibit on the showcase floor. The other vertical markets were education, healthcare, finance, and local, state and federal governments.
APC
APC by Schneider Electric set up the hoops in the company’s booth. The vendor has a GEM (government, education and medical) partner program as well as its Edge IT Program for partners to help transition the complexities of IoT into revenue in local edge environments (i.e. branch and remote offices).
Awingu.comIt’s not all big vendor showcasing in the big hall, as partners also chatted with companies like
Awingu.com. Julie Govaert (second from left), director of business development with Awingu, introduced herself to numerous booth visitors. The Belgium-based company, with offices in NY and San Francisco, offers a unified workspace solution that aggregates all company applications and files into one secure online workspace that can be accessed from any device, OS, or browser.
Last Night
When all was said and done, the "Final Night Out" event offered some Texas flair. That’s right – cowboys and cowgirls. There was music, drinking, and a live cowboy rodeo to help kick up some dust.
