Ingram Micro ONE, one of the tech distributor’s largest gatherings of channel partners, welcomed solution providers and vendor partners to the Aria in Las Vegas last week.

Among hot topics, security was the headliner, with solution providers learning about how Ingram Micro is working to help its partners manage their customers’ security and keep their data safe.

The event also featured a Women in Technology speaker series, a Solutions Showcase and various education sessions.

Ingram Micro ONE: Attendees

The Ingram Micro ONE Conference attracted about 2,000 attendees, half of which were solution providers. The distributor also boasted almost 1,150 new attendees or first-timers at ONE — almost 600 of these new attendees were solution providers.

Ingram Micro ONE: Security

Security was a hot topic at the general session.

It’s been estimated that the cost of cybersecurity crime will reach $2 trillion annually and spending on IT security solutions will reach $1 trillion over the next four years. Here, Eric Kohl, executive director for advanced solutions at Ingram Micro, talks about the distributor’s security framework — designed to help partners manage the full life cycle of their customer’s security.

Ingram Micro ONE: Gen. Michael Hayden

General Michael Hayden, former director of the CIA and NSA, outlined the global picture of cybersecurity and cybersecurity threats.

He noted that in the face of inevitable cyberattacks, the challenge for vendors is in discovery, resilience and recovery. Hayden also told the audience at the keynote that it’s the private sector that will protect and keep businesses safe, and not the government — from the perspective of day-to-day threats.

Ingram Micro ONE: Women in Tech

More than 100 women, and a few men, attended the Women in Technology Speaker Series, “Empowering Women.” Susan Brady, executive vice president of global program strategy & development at Linkage, was the featured speaker for a discussion on “The Path to Being Powerfully Bold.”

Ingram Micro ONE: IBM

IBM, a silver sponsor of Ingram Micro One, had several meeting areas where partners and IBM executives discussed technology and business objectives. Vendor-partner one-on-one meetings are one of the most valuable ways that partners spend their time at tech events.

Ingram Micro ONE: Solutions Showcase

The Solutions Showcase is where partners network with Ingram Micro manufacturer partners, solutions and services.

Ingram Micro ONE: HGST & Pivot3

HGST, a Western digital brand, exhibited its storage services, while Pivot3 offered information about its dynamic hyperconverged data-center services.

Ingram Micro ONE: Education

There were also scheduled education sessions being held on the Solutions Showcase floor. Here, Jon Clay, senior global marketing manager with Trend Micro, an Ingram Micro technology partner, gave a presentation on security.

Ingram Micro ONE: Sophos’ Socks

Security vendor Sophos got its message about endpoint security out via  a sock giveaway on the Showcase floor.

Ingram Micro ONE: Microsoft Dynamics 365

Ingram Micro ONE platinum sponsor Microsoft held an education session about Microsoft Dynamics 365 on the Showcase floor. Here, Microsoft Partner Technology Adviser Craig Crescas addresses partners.

Ingram Micro ONE: Channels Pavilion

Dave’s Charm School, CompTIA, Wells Fargo, Ingram Micro Global Business Intelligence and Analytics, Ingram Micro Lease IT, NOW and The Lending Club exhibited at  the Ingram Micro Channels Pavilion.

Ingram Micro ONE: Next Year

Save the date. Next year’s Ingram Micro ONE will be held Nov. 27-Dec. 1, in Grapevine, Texas.
