Ingram Micro Cloud Summit X, held March 12-14, in San Diego, attracted 1,500 attendees. The distributor shared its cloud vision, rolled out updates to the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace, debuted an IoT Marketplace, and displayed the cloud offers of some of its vendor partners and ISVs in the Cloud Showcase.
Conference attendees heard from a handful of Ingram Micro’s top-tier technology partners such as Microsoft, IBM, VMware, AWS and Cisco. Ingram Micro presented awards to more than a dozen partners in several categories, and attendees heard from Comet Competition finalists from Austin, Boston and Tel Aviv.
The conference schedule also included dozens of sessions for partners on emerging technologies, cloud awesomeness, the cloud marketplace, cloud products, CloudBlue, best practices, as well as ISV and service provider labs, and IaaS labs.

The Welcome Reception at Ingram Micro Cloud Summit X gave partners, vendors and ISVs the opportunity to mingle and network, make new connections and catch up with old friends.
Microsoft's Gavriella Schuster, corporate vice president, One Commercial Partner, led the keynote presentations at the start of Ingram Micro's Cloud Summit X and focused her talk on "The Power of Partnership."
Not only has Microsoft's long-term partnership with Ingram Micro evolved, but Schuster talked about the move from traditional partnering to modern partnerships.
The software giant, a titanium event sponsor, also made a big splash with partners in the Cloud Showcase.
In partnership with MassChallenge, Ingram Micro last year launched the Comet competition in Austin, Texas; Boston; and Tel Aviv, in an effort to discover promising early-stage ISV startups.
The top three winners – Verifyoo (Israel), ClearBlade (Austn) and Pixm (Boston) – were announced at Ingram Micro Cloud Summit X. MassChallenge and Ingram Micro awarded $300,000 in cash prices and $1.5 million in go-to-market funding. There were more than 300 applicants from 23 countries.
Tel Aviv finalist Verifyoo (pictured here) was founded by cybersecurity experts and is on a mission to provide user verification technologies that go beyond existing biometrics.
Ingram Micro upgraded its Cloud Marketplace, adding enhancements and new features.
Among them is the Marketplace API, which enables technology partners to integrate their own online storefront, CRM and billing systems into the Ingram Cloud Marketplace. Renee Bergeron, senior vice president, global cloud, Ingram Micro, announced direct integration with longtime partner Connectwise at Ingram Micro Cloud Summit X. Jason Magee, the new chief executive officer at ConnectWise, joined Bergeron on stage.
Ingram Micro's global head of IoT, Ben Xiang, launched the IoT Marketplace, where partners will find a suite of IoT products, solutions, components and services. This one-stop shop is designed to help partners learn more about IoT and where it fits into their practice and their customer's business.
Ingram Micro named partner award winners across a number of categories: breadth, depth, scale and CloudBlue. There were multiple winners in each category.
The U.S. Breadth Award winners: CRF-T and North Light IT; the U.S. Depth Award winners: eGroup, GreenPages and Interworks; U.S. Scale Award winner: Camera Corner Connecting Point; and CloudBlue winners: T-Mobile and PCM.
Carla Harris (left), vice chairman, global wealth management and senior client advisor, Morgan Stanley, presented at the Women in Cloud session. The motivational speaker and author of two books – Expect to Win and Strategize to Win – shared pearls of her success equation.
After Harris' dynamic presentation, she was joined by panelists: Gina Mastantuono, chief financial officer, Ingram Micro; Dorothy Copeland, vice president, IBM Global Business Partners; Cindy Kennedy, president, western region, Converge Technology Partners; Siobhan Dullea, chief technology officer at MassChallenge; and Sophie Deleval, president, France, Ingram Micro.
Top-ranked rock climber and "free-soloist" Alex Honnold, the only person to free solo El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, shared his monumental achievement with conference attendees, inspiring both awe and fear. Honnold spent eight years preparing for this climb.
